Privacy
What we store when you subscribe to the newsletter, why, and how to stop.
What is stored
- Your email address.
- The time you subscribed, confirmed, or unsubscribed.
- Which page you subscribed from (for example the homepage or an episode page).
- A one-way hash of the IP address you subscribed from, kept only to slow down abuse of the sign-up form — not your actual IP address.
Why
To send the newsletter you asked for, and nothing else. We don't share, sell or trade your email address with anyone.
Double opt-in
Subscribing sends you one confirmation email with a link. Nothing is sent to your inbox on a recurring basis until you click it. This protects you from someone else signing your address up by mistake, or on purpose.
Unsubscribing
Every newsletter email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and your mail client's own "Unsubscribe" button works the same way. Unsubscribing is immediate and permanent until you subscribe again yourself.
Delivery
The newsletter is delivered through a transactional email provider operating under standard contractual clauses, in the EU or US. It is used only to deliver this mail — your address is not used by that provider for any purpose of its own.
Retention
If you unsubscribe, we keep the bare record of the unsubscribe itself (so we reliably honour it and never email you again) but nothing more is sent, and the address is not used for anything else.
